Further to our previous article regarding the proposed multi-year teachers’ pay award, we are still awaiting publication of the School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB) report and recommendations.
As a reminder, the Department for Education has asked the STRB to make recommendations covering the 2026/27 and 2027/28 academic years, together with an indicative recommendation for 2028/29. The Department’s evidence proposed a total pay award of 6.5% across the three-year period, weighted towards the later years.
Once the STRB report has been published, the Government will consider the recommendations before consulting on any proposed changes to the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document.
At the time of writing, no further details have been released and the proposed pay award has therefore not yet been finalised.
